Recharging
Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries
- Nickel
Metal Hydride NiMH AA batteries are labeled as "environmentally
friendly" because they contain no Cadmium, which is a toxic metal
and harmful to the environment.
- NiMH
AA batteries can be recharged approx. 500 times under ideal conditions
(not overcharging or totally discharging).
- Keep
your NiMH batteries in pairs so you know they will be charged
the same.
- If
you are using a commercial battery charger please be careful not
to overcharge. Most chargers are built for NiCd AA batteries.
- NiMH
batteries are charged at a slower rate so be careful not to overcharge
them. Charge them less than full requirement time if you are using
a commercial NiCd charger. As with all other rechargeable batteries,
overcharging will reduce life.
- NiMH
AA batteries will be stronger straight from the charger. The longer
they sit without being used, the less strength they will have.
- All
rechargeables slowly lose power and can loose up to 20% of their
charge within a week. They are best used right out of the charger
(but it's ok to have them charged and ready and then top them
up etc)
