Sheepskin Boots - made in New Zealand
Sheepskin boots come in a range of qualities, especially in New
Zealand and Australia. Because of the growth in sales of sheepskin
boots world-wide, there are many cheaper copycat boots now available
using second grade sheepskin, inferior and dangerous Polyurethane
plastic soles, and cost cutting shortcuts in workmanship.
Our Boots are the originals made by Canterbury Sheepskin for over
30 years. Our boots are equally at home at Everest Base Camp or
just with your feet up by the fire.

Sheepskin
Boots
stand at about 10 inches high. Our high-tops
stand
about 5 inches higher and come up to just under your knees
(depending
on the size).

Construction
The
rubber sole is lightweight yet provides traction in wet, snow and
slippery conditions. A heat refelctive film is inserted above the
sole to retain heat. Ugg Brand sheepskin boots have the word "Ugg"
moulded into the bottom of the sole - ours do not.
The 5/8
inch thick shearling wool inside moulds to the shape of your foot
creating natural arch support.
Each
boot has a removable insole made with a rubber molded bootbed and
lambskin. These can be removed to dry or replaced easily.
The
soft wool fibres of natural wool acts as a natural insulator to
keep your feet warm and comfortable. Wool is breathable, wicking
moisture away keeping your feet dry and cosy.
Waterproofing
Maruia
Boots are naturally water resistant. They're made in New Zealand
where we get a lot of rainfall and understand about getting wet.
In most cases you will not need more protection from the wet. If
you do, use a readily available silicon spray such as Scotch Guard.
Note
detail work of rubber soles, stitching and reinforcing.
Washing
Use
a mild soap and a brush or cloth. Rinse them off and keep them inside
away from the heat while they dry. Give them a good hard brushing
when they're dry to bring back the natural suede finish. We supply
special sheepskin shampoo and waterproofing spray in our shop.
Sizing
Boot
sizes run large and in full sizes so best to down a half size if
you are in between. For instance, if you are a size 8 1/2, then
order size 8.
