Sheepskin boots come in a range of qualities, especially in New Zealand
and Australia. Because of the growth in sales of sheepskin boots
world-wide, there are many cheaper copycat boots now available using
second grade sheepskin, inferior and dangerous Polyurethane plastic
soles, and cost cutting shortcuts in workmanship.
The
sheepskin boots have a 5/8 inch thick shearling wool inside that
moulds to the shape of your foot creating a natural arch support.
Insoles are removable and replaceable at reasonable cost. The rubber
sole is lightweight yet provides traction in wet, snow and slippery
conditions. A heat refelctive film is inserted above the sole to
retain body heat. Each sheepskin boot has a removable insole made
with a rubber molded bootbed and lambskin. These can be removed
to dry or replaced easily.
The
soft wool fibres of lambskin act as a natural insulator to
keep your feet warm and comfortable. Sheepskin is breathable,
wicking moisture away to keep your feet dry and cosy.
Each
pair of our boots has a suede finish in a sandy color. The height
of the boot is about 9 to 10 inches from bottom of heel to the top,
depending on the size. We now also sell "high tops" which
are up to the top of your calf.
Waterproofing

boots are naturally water resistant. They are made in New
Zealand where we get a lot of rainfall and understand about getting
wet. In most cases you will not need more protection from the wet.
If you want more protection, it is very simple - use a readily available
silicon spray such as Scotch Guard. We have some sprays available
to send also.
