Solar
garden lights charge up during the day, light up automatically
when the sun goes down and stay on all night. The special LED
bulbs last for years. They have 2 new generation high spec LED
bulbs making our lights 30% to 50% brighter than normal models
and use the latest LED and solar technology.
Solar
garden lights are now available in Amber or White. Because they
are solar powered, they cost nothing to operate. Charged by sunlight
by day, they automatically turn on at night. And they're so easy
to install, anywhere, because solar garden lights require no wiring.
Urgent
Note Regarding Solar Garden light quality:
Our
solar garden lights are absolutely top of the line and include
the latest LED and solar technology. There are now some cheap
solar options available - so please beware as the lights are not
as good, not as bright, and will not last as long as ours. The
reason for our low price is we are dealing direct with the factory
and send direct to you with no middlemen. Our margins are low
and our dollar is low in value, making all goods from New Zealand
great buying.
Technical
Information
Please
note the brightness of LED's are not indicated in watts and many
solar garden light sellers will make exagerated claims. The measurement
is 'mcd' (micro candle light). The power of our light is about
3500-5000mcd (depending on amber or white and the amount of charge).
They are powered by a pair of rechargeable AA 900mA nicad batteries
(batteries are easily replaceable; they take two AA size rechargeable
batteries same as a torch or flashlight). The batteries should
last about 2 years and it's ok to use more powerful NiMh batteries
also. Note: All solar garden lights have batteries that need to
be replaced at least every 2 years, but some designs make it difficult
to change the batteries.

Troubleshooting
Solar Garden Lights
Having
problems with your solar garden lights? Here is a check list to
help you fix them. Don't forget - all solar garden lights have
an on and off switch - make certain it is turned on - you can
check if they work by going into a dark closet - as long as they
are charged up.
1.
Loose batteries
All
solar garden lights and solar outdoor lights have batteries. Some
times the batteries the batteries come loose - and no contact
is being made.
To check this, hold the light upside down with the top of the
light held firmly in the palm of one hand. With the other hand,
hold the clear plastic cover that surrounds the bulb, push down
firmly and twist to either left or right. This will allow the
body of the light to separate from the top exposing the batteries.
Be very careful not to damage the circuit board or wiring. (don't
pull all the way apart or you will break the wiring.
If
the batteries have become dislodged, simply push them firmly back
into position and fit the light back together. (wipe them clean
first)
2.
Corrosion
There have been some instances where dampness has caused corrosion
on the battery terminals and/or the batteries themselves. This
can be rectified by removing the body of the light as per the
instructions in item 1 above, remove the batteries from their
holder, and clean terminals at each end of the battery holder
with sand paper or carefully scrape with a small knife to remove
any corrosion. Do the same to each end of the batteries. Reassemble
the light.
3.
Flat batteries or faulty solar panel
At
times it is difficult to determine whether there is a problem
with the rechargeable batteries not holding their charge or the
solar charger not working. Again, remove the body of the light
as per the instructions in item 1 above. To test batteries, replace
one rechargeable with one normal AA battery and test light by
covering with a towel or something similar. Do the same with other
rechargeable battery. If one test works and the other fails, one
rechargeable battery has failed so contact us on 0800 77 11 33
and we will send out a replacement battery. Please remember that
you must only use rechargeable batteries in your solar garden
lights- but you can test the lights with normal batteries in order
to see if your rechargeable batteries are dead. The rechargeable
batteries included with your light should last 1 1/2 to 2 years.
And can be easily replaced with new rechargeable batteries - try
and use latest models of rechargeable batteries. Your solar garden
lights should last easily through 2-3 battery changes. We sell
only the best quality solar lights.
4.
Servicing
If
these tests fail, the solar garden light will require servicing,
so again contact us and we will make arrangements to have the
light returned for repair. When phoning, please advise our phone
operator that you have already been though this check list.

Solar
Garden Lights - Customer Testimonials:
"I
just wanted to let you know I was skeptical about your Solar Garden
Light I had ordered and recently received. Only because I've spent
the last couple of months trying several brands. I ordered your
light(s) to try them out since you claim they are bright. However
I was skeptical because they are plastic and somewhat costly.
But I was pleasantly surprised when I found that to be 100% correct
in your claim!!! I have 6 of them currenlty staggered in my front
yard and they look terrific. Since I am a satisfied customer,
I soon will be ordering another lot of about 8. I need them for
my backyard as well. Thank you for providing a nice light and
a great service!!" John, USA.
"I
wanted to let you know that I am extremely happy with my new Solar
Lights! They are everything that you claimed they are and the
light that they give off is quite unique for solar or low voltage
lights that I have seen. You may be getting more orders from Michigan
in the future. I am spreading the word on how good these lights
are!" John, USA.
